Dear [Dr. Name],

As a valued customer, I am pleased to share with you that Portola has entered into a definitive agreement for Alexion to acquire Portola.

As you may know, Alexion is a world-class leading biotech company that specializes in innovating therapies to serve significant unmet needs, and we believe that its resources and experience will maximize and accelerate patient access to our medicine globally.

Between now and closing, which we expect to occur in the third quarter of 2020, it remains business as usual. Both companies will continue to operate independently, and your Portola contact will remain the same. During this time, we are committed to offering you the quality of support and service that you have come to expect from us. The process for ordering product will remain unchanged during this period.

We look forward to continuing our relationship with you, and the additional opportunities we believe this transaction will provide.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Sincerely,

[Sender Name]
