On April 16, 2020, Assurant, Inc. issued a news release announcing that its 2020 Annual Meeting of Shareholders, to be held on May 7, 2020 at 9 a.m. Eastern Time, will be held exclusively in a virtual-only format due to the public health threat caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. A copy of the news release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference into this Item 8.01.
