Explanation of Responses:

1. BKF Capital Group, Inc. ("BKF") owns 1,500,000 shares of common stock of Qualstar Corporation ("QBAK"). As Chariman and President of BKF, Mr. Brosnon may be deemed to be the beneficial owner of the 1,500,000 shares of QBAK owned by BKF. BA Value Investors, LLC, an entity that is wholly owned by Mr. Brosnon, owns 57,700 shares of QBAK.
